Aloft Hotel at ParkSquare Aventura
The Aloft hotel is located in Aventura’s first pedestrian-friendly, mixed-use development called ParkSquare, which spans seven acres, is divided into four blocks, and includes offices, an assisted-living facility, residential units, and 55,000 SF of retail space. Incorporated on the ground floor of the 11-story, 215-room mid-rise hotel is 14,250 SF of the community’s retail space, divided into four tenant spaces occupied by high-end restaurants. Fluctuating, transparent curtail walls wrap the north and east facades of the building at the ground level, where the restaurants are located, and open to an abundance of common green space, outdoor seating and gathering areas. The hotel’s lobby and back-of-house occupy the more private southwest corner of the building at the ground level.
In an effort to compete with brand name cookie-cutter hotel chains, the Aloft hotel followed the design parameters of its branded prototype which is geared toward the tech-savvy millennial. Located on the second level, exclusively for hotel guests, is the Aloft prototypical fitness center, the swipe-n-go 24-hour food and beverage station, and the signature w xyz bar and lounge. A communal area for reading or working on a laptop is also located on level two, and an outdoor amenity deck has a pool and social gathering area. Guest rooms on levels three through ten feature loft-like nine-foot ceilings, oversized windows, and large bathrooms with walk-in showers. Prototypical built-in platform beds, office space, and an entertainment center with a one-stop connectivity station for multiple electronic gadgets was also incorporated into each guest room. On the exterior of the building, a parapet and eyebrows clad in anodized aluminum, metal louvers, and composite metal panels are used and are typical for the Aloft hotels.
