Coney’s Cone Restaurant
Zyscovich Architects designed the Coney Island Boardwalk’s newest restaurant: Coney’s Cones. The project was commissioned for the New York City-owned property by Zamperla Group’s Central Amusement International, which has a 10-year contract to build and operate the boardwalk’s Luna Park and Scream Zone. Zyscovich created a mixed modern-retro exterior for Coney’s Cones, with a clean, bright interior that reinforces the restaurant’s fresh approach to its menu—homemade gelato, prepared daily on the premises, as well as healthy, fresh salads and sandwiches. The 1,700 SF restaurant replaces a former chicken eatery. Its architecture and menu reflect the City’s and Zamperla’s vision to create a revitalized Coney Island experience while preserving the venerable boardwalk’s unique character.
