Miami Beach Convention Center Retail Concept Design
The design concept was to have a retail area that served as a transition and guided people from Lincoln Road Mall to the new ‘Convention Center Square’ proposed by the developer. The specialty retail would have an anchor store at each end accessed by a bridging element on the third level. This bridging element not only links the two anchor stores to each other but also allows access to the Convention Center without having to cross traffic at the ground level.
The roof of the bridge is designed to host large outdoor events including fashion shows.
The amount of parking spaces provided by the existing parking garage was preserved by moving them to two levels of underground parking. The three cores serve as sculptural elements while providing vertical circulation for visitors.
